Horrmundsgården is located in the middle of the forest between Sälen and Stöten in North Dalarna. Here you can cozy up on the sofa in one of the common areas or outside in one of our sitting areas and why not make a small fire in the BBQ shed and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. We make cross-country tracks in the winter and you can swim in Horrmundsjön in the summer. The children have a game room of their own and can also play around in the garden. After a lovely day on the ski slopes it also feels good to be able to wind down in the heat of our wood-burning sauna.
Wi-Fi is free and among the common areas there is a TV room and a game room. You can borrow our snowshoes or canoes depending on the season. In the gameroom there are, among other things, board games, a dart board and foosball table so the children can always find something to do. Our Icelandic sheepdogs Lemmy and Dio think it’s great fun to play outside with children and other dogs and they are very kind and happy.

Winter in Sälen
- Ski in the resorts nearby such as Sälen mountains, Stöten, Kläppen, Idre and Trysil. We are 20 km from Sälen and 50 km from Trysil
- Bring your skates for a round of the lakes in the area
- The snowmobile trails run right outside the premises. We sell maps of the trails system and have extensive knowledge of the network
- Feel free to try our very own cross-country trail that starts right outside the front door
- Book a cozy evening in the wood-fired sauna to warm up after a full day in the snow
- Take a seat in the BBQ-shed and unwind as the flames reach for the sky. Perhaps bring some marshmallows or hot dogs
- Fishing licence and passes for the snowmobile network are available for purchase
Spring in Sälen
- It is still time for one last round on the snowmobile
- A day out fishing for trout on the spring ice of the still frozen lakes and streams.
- First hikers and cyclists of the year start turning up
Summer in Sälen
- Go for a swim in lake Horrmundsjön which is close by
- Make lunch in the BBQ hut and work on your tan on the patio
- Hike and bicycle on the mountain trails during the day and return to a comfortable accomodation
- Fish in the lakes and streams. Buy your fishing licence here
- Rent our canoes and go for a boatride on Horrmundsjön
- Lots of outdoor activities for the kids which our dogs love to watch and even play along.
- Short driving distance to the national park Fulufjället and Swedens tallest waterfall, Njupeskär. Särna beach or lake Stensjön are worth to mention also.
